QuickStart Guide

Overview

This quickstart guide quickly explains and demonstrates each of the transactions that OzLINK can process.  See the link at the end of each section for more details about that transaction.

Address Validation

Address validation allows you to check an address before shipping.

In OzLINK for UPS, click on the Address Validation tab.  Enter the details for the address you would like to check, then click the Validate button.  OzLINK will send the address to UPS, then display the suggested addresses that it gets back.  If the suggested address matches the one you entered, then your original address is valid.  If the returned address is different, you can decide if you would like to use the corrected address or contact the customer to check it.

For more details, see: Address Validation

Rating

The rating section allows you to see how much a package would cost to ship.

In OzLINK for UPS, click on the Rating tab.  Enter the details for a package that you're interested in shipping, then click the Rate button.  OzLINK will send the shipment information to UPS, then display the cost for the shipment using various service options.  You can use the Package Services and Freight Services tabs to add extra options to the shipment.

For more details, including how to turn on negotiated rates and freight rates, see: Rating

Tracking

The tracking area lets you view the status of a shipment.

In OzLINK for UPS, click on the Tracking tab.  Enter a UPS tracking number or reference number, then click the Track button.  OzLINK will send the tracking number to UPS, then display the details that UPS provides.

For more details, see: Tracking

Shipping

The shipping area allows you to move shipment information automatically between your ERP or accounting system and UPS WorldShip.  There are many options available for the shipping transaction, so be sure to check out the additional information below after trying one.  UPS WorldShip must be installed to process shipments.

In OzLINK for UPS, click on the Shipping tab.  Click on the blue Change link in the Customer Data area to choose the system where you store your shipping information.  If the Shipping System is not listed as UPS WorldShip, click the Change link to change it to UPS Worldship.  Follow the directions in the Process section to select and process a shipment - we recommend that you set up a test transaction in your ERP or accounting program instead of using live data.  OzLINK will gather the required details from your system and move them to UPS WorldShip automatically.  Double check the information that was moved into WorldShip, then press the Process button in WorldShip as you normally would to finish.  Once the shipment has been finished, OzLINK will record some details about the shipment in you system.

Batch Processing

Batch processing allows you to perform many transactions at once using Microsoft Excel rather than entering them individually into OzLINK.  Processing your transactions in batches can have a huge impact on the time that you spend on your fulfillment process.  There are many ways to customize your batch process, so you'll be able to work with a style that fits your needs.

Check out the Batch Processing Overview for more details.
